Dice of Life (Open) Empty Dice of Life (Open)

It was the night before the weekend and tomorrow he'd have the day off. Truth be told, he cut class when he pleased. Eridani wasn't on this planet to pass the tests and go find a job. He was here to complete a task and that was it. Thought the sun had gone down and stars had come out, there was still a bit of a bustle on the streets. He did his best to blend in with a black and gray shirt with a regular pair of jeans and sneakers. He'd stolen all of it. No reason to pay for things here either if he didn't have to. This place was just buzzing with magic and he was still trying to get used to it. It threw him off and at times it even made him sick, "I just can't wait to get out of here."

Eridani fiddled with the pendant around his neck for a brief moment, the Eye of Atsiel, before tucking it back in his shirt against his chest. As the people buzzed around talking and going about their business, he went from window to window of the building, putting a hand to the glass to cover up the reflection and peering in to see what was inside. Searching. He'd done some research back at his apartments and was on the prowl for what he thought to be an item. Or even Essence which it was known as back on his homeplanet; a bountiful source of energy that could be extracted and used in various sorts of ways. Turning his head to scratch his face he made his way to the next building, a store that had closed for the night but it had seemed to pique his interest. "Is this it?" He asked under his breath, as he looked about. Not seeing anyone that seemed to take notice of him. He twisted the knob to find that the door would open.

"Dammit." Where was Nixie when she'd actually be useful? His facial features twisted as he thought, glancing around again before reaching into his pocket and pulling his hand out, closed in a fist. Slowly opening his palm a faint blue light illuminated within his hand, no brighter than the screen on a cellphone. With a whisper the light itself twisted and molded as it began to wriggle into the keyhole, attempting to unlock the door.

It wasn't every day that she walked the streets alone. Actually, it was very rare. But, she had to run errands -- to go grocery shopping while Hotaru and Haruka had some bonding time. It happened every now and again, a neccesity to obtain food and home beverages. Thankfully, she had been able to make it out of the store before it closed for the night.

But, it was just about everyday, now-a-days, that she had tingling a senses -- a ressonance of prescence. And, as she strode down the sidewalk of the Juuban Shopping District with a grocery bag in each hand and heading towards home, she felt the familiar sensation and knew that there was something strange, somewhat evil, nearby. There was no mistaking it.

She came to a sudden stop, allowing the precognitive feeling to overtake her. To lead her. Allowing buzzing people to pass by. Aquamarine eyes glanced to the side, searching the strip across the street from her. One of the citizens coming and going, stopping and seeing. Then, her gaze narrowed. She spotted him almost instantly.
There.

What he was doing was discreet and subtle -- mischevious. His aura didn't read "murderous", but it was evident that he wasn't from Earth -- this solar system. He wasn't from her world. And, that, in itself, was enough reason to target him. To investigate.

Dice of Life (Open) Empty Re: Dice of Life (Open)

Eridani watched as the light did its magic. A handy little dust that he had brought from home, it was quicker than trying to pick a lock but where on his planet no one would look twice at the light. Here on Earth, it might have been a little odd. Eri lifted his head to look around and though someone had taken notice of him, he hadn't seem to notice they had. With a soft 'click' he heard the door unlock and he pushed it open as natural as could be, as if he was the one that had owned the shop itself. He slowly closed the door behind him.

It was a small antique shop, old and musty. There was dust in the air of the room he had entered but he just waved it off. His shadowy figure could be seen through the glass as it stepped through the the doorway and farther into the building. Searching for what had set his senses off in the first place. "Where are you?" He muttered under his breath, searching through the darkness. He ran his hand along a bookshelf as he delved further into the building, which was rather large though on the outside it didn't seem much more than a quaint little store.

"Could this be?" Eridani asked allowed as he traced his hand along a bookshelf, to pull a leather bound book from its place. Flipping it open and setting it down on a nearby counter. He couldn't have been this lucky, the book didn't resonate with much power... He frowned, it was worth taking a look. He held his hand over the book, its pages began to flip on their own like a wind was in the room. A soft, ethereal light emitting from its pages as he searched it.
